Our general objectives are within the promotion of Harm Reduction principles, which includes:

• Prevention of HIV, hepatitis and STD within drug injectors through outreach activities
• Facilitation of access to healthcare for beneficiaries of the Program
• Introduction of specific prevention strategies to health professionals
• Networking with organizations whose scope is in related fields
• Capacity building of the team members
• Respect of universal human rights

A c t i v i t i e s
Three years after the program had started (0ctober 2002), implementation of the Pilot Harm Reduction Program in Belgrade - Serbia, was handed-over from Médecins du Monde-France to NGO Veza in October 2005. By convention, during the next three years, Médecins du Monde will support Veza (fund raising, training and technical support).

Results achieved as Médecins du Monde’s Program
• More than 1000 beneficiaries contacted in two and half years time
• Network established with governmental structures, non-governmental organizations, healthcare institutions, international agencies
